Higher Education and Training Deputy Minister, Dr Mimmy Gondwe, has encouraged learners to look at the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges to be a important and viable substitute for advancing their occupations.
The Deputy Minister was talking throughout an oversight visit towards the post-school education and education (PSET) institutions during the Western Cape this week.
Gondwe explained the TVET colleges as important for job creation and youth skills development in the country.
The Deputy Minister frequented the West Coast College Vredenburg Campus, plus the Cape Peninsula {University of Know-how (CPUT) Bellville Campus in Cape Town.
Gondwe's visits aimed toward evaluating the state of readiness of greater education institutions across the nation, forward in the 2025 academic year.
In the visit at West Coast College, she encouraged learners to get satisfaction in getting artisan expertise as they supply wonderful entrepreneurship options.
"I'm very encouraged by what I'm seeing at TVET colleges, I believe they are the future of this country. At the second part of the visit, students at CPUT expressed concerns here about college student residences along with other services. The Deputy Minister directed the institution to work with the Student Representative Council (SRC), to speedily solve the discovered difficulties.

The Deputy Minister's oversight is expected to continue in other provinces, with North West higher education institutions being the next on the list.
